Let us take a small leap forward and arrive at the Renaissancewhen Rimini was the capital of the Malatesta seignory, who commissioned the construction of the Malatesta Temple - which houses the Crucifix painted by Giotto - and Castel Sismondo.
But we come to contemporary history, when Rimini was also the backdrop for some of the most beautiful stories told by Federico Fellini in his films, first and foremost Amarcord. The great director was in fact born right here in Rimini and there are many corners dedicated to Fellini in the streets of the city.
